We’re learning about Paul Beauvais at PPF Benefits & Retirement.
Where in Canada are you based?
Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
Please introduce yourself.
Someone who thrives in a changing environment, adapts and is always looking to evolve with a focus on helping others.
What do you appreciate most about being a Benefits Alliance member?
The breadth and depth of knowledge with so many independent firms. The educational content, the speakers, and events.
What is your favourite part of your role?
Helping clients navigate the benefits space and playing a part in supporting our Advisors to achieve success beyond their own goals.
How do you define success?
Learning from your past (mistakes play a big role), constantly evolving and doing things that you’re uncomfortable doing.
How do you manage work/life balance?
Rigorous scheduling that permits me to stay healthy, time for family and friends, then strategically schedule blocks of time for meetings/planning/creative time.
What books/resources do you recommend that every business person should check out?
Whatever topic/area you are curious about that would be outside your area of
expertise and intrigues you.
What advice would you give to people who want to join this industry?
Sit down with those who are successful and ask them to tell you all the reasons why you shouldn’t join this industry. The money/success/helping others is the easy reason to join. If you’re still interested- it’s probably a good choice.
If your friends/family/colleagues were to give you an award, what would it be for?
Perseverance.
If someone would make a documentary about you, what would be the title?
Luck had nothing to do with it.
