This week we’re learning more about Glen Tait at Davis Benefits & Pensions Ltd.

What inspired you to enter the industry?

I started out selling Life Insurance with Mutual Life and after just under 2 years realized working mainly nights, wasn’t for me.  I did some calls with a senior agent who did Group Benefits and the rest is history.

Who is your mentor?

Stephen Seyforth from my Mutual Life days, was the person who got me into the Life Insurance Business and then later, into Group Benefits.

What are some things that people don’t know about you?

That I’m an absolute softy at heart and even reading a bad story in the news, about someone I never met, brings a tear to my eye.

What are the biggest lessons that you have learned in the business?  

You never know everything.  There is always a situation that pops, that I’ve never run across before and getting an answer on it, even from seasoned professional can be a challenge.

Do you have insights about the industry that you would like to share?

Clearly the industry is changing rapidly, and I believe it’s best not to get up in things we can’t control but flourish in the areas we can.
