This week we’re learning more about Anusa Sundararasa of Penmore Benefits Inc.
What inspired you to enter the industry?
I have a minor in HR management and this brought me into the industry. However, acknowledging the importance of saving for retirement at a young age, made me stay in the industry to educate and help others understand/realize the benefits of a retirement program.

What are some things that people don’t know about you?
People may not know that I have a creative side to me where I create clothing pieces, event backdrops & cake decorations as a side passion for friends and family.
What are the biggest lessons that you have learned in the business?
I have learned to never overestimate a person’s knowledge of the industry (no matter how high up the ladder they are). Educate employers and employees with simplicity.
Do you have insights about the industry that you would like to share?
I believe the retirement industry will continue to excel as more employers are realizing the importance of having a program. Statistics show that since the pandemic, many employers are experiencing higher employee turnover and a retirement plan is one of the top retention tools. Additionally, many employees are concerned about having enough money in retirement and view retirement benefits as a critical factor in deciding to take a job.
