What do you appreciate most about being a Benefits Alliance Preferred Solutions Provider?

As a new Preferred Solutions Provider, what I appreciate most is the opportunity to collaborate with advisors and industry leaders who are focused on raising the standard of service for clients across Canada. Benefits Alliance brings together a community that values innovation, practical solutions, and strong partnerships, which makes it a great fit for Lucite.

What is your favourite part of your role?

My favorite part of the role is hearing from advisors that something which used to take hours now takes only minutes. Building technology that has a real, measurable impact on how people work every day is incredibly rewarding.

How do you define success?

I define success as building a product that becomes truly indispensable to the people who use it, something that meaningfully improves how they operate and that they can’t imagine working without.

What are the biggest challenges you face in your role or in this industry?

For firms to realize the full value of a new system, they need to be willing to adapt how they work. At Lucite, we provide hands-on support throughout that transition, but the firms that see the greatest success are the ones that embrace change and are committed to building more efficient workflows.

How do you manage work/life balance?

We work hard at Lucite, and building a company at the cutting edge of technology takes a lot of energy and commitment. What makes that sustainable is our team culture: we’re a close-knit group, we genuinely enjoy solving problems together, and we make time to have fun outside of work with regular team outings. On a personal level, I like to recharge by cooking on the weekends with my wife.

What books/resources do you recommend that every business person should check out?

Essays by Paul Graham, co-founder of Y Combinator. They’re written largely for technology startups, but I think any entrepreneur can take a lot from them. What makes them valuable is that they push you to think clearly about customers, focus, and what actually drives growth. Those lessons apply well beyond the tech startup world.

What advice would you give to people who want to join this industry?

From what I’ve seen, the people who do really well in this industry stay curious, build strong relationships, and are always looking for ways to serve clients better. The most effective advisors combine deep expertise with a willingness to keep evolving in how they serve clients and run their business.

If your friends/family/colleagues were to give you an award, what would it be for?

Probably for being the go-to trip planner. I love researching destinations in depth and putting together thoughtful itineraries that optimize for local, authentic experiences. I enjoy finding the places, neighborhoods, and activities that make a trip feel memorable rather than generic.
