BA Women’s Networking Group: Imposter Syndrome, hosted by Hanna Jackson of CAPCORP

October 11 @ 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm EDT

For those of you who didn’t get the chance to sit in on part one of our imposter syndrome discussion, here is a quick recap ahead of part two. Imposter syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which individuals doubt their achievements and fear being exposed as frauds. This experience often manifests through four key characteristics: perfectionism, fear of success, self-doubt, and overworking.
While the underlying causes can vary from person to person, the most common and consistent contributors include family expectations and upbringing, personality traits, new opportunities, and work environment. Regardless of the specific triggers or manifestations, what truly matters is developing an awareness of these feelings. By recognizing and acknowledging them, you open yourself up to greater opportunities for personal and professional growth and lay the foundation for challenging and overcoming the negative thoughts that accompany imposter syndrome.
