CONCORD, September 20, 2022 – Benefits Alliance is proud to announce the hiring of Carolyne Eagan as President.
Carolyne has been in the group industry for 26 years and started her career with Canada Life as a group benefits account manager. She has held a number of national business development leadership positions over the years representing group benefits, group retirement and living benefits. Her previous leadership positions include Director of Group Benefits & Living Benefits, Canada Life and Business Development Director, Sun Life. Carolyne and her teams have been dedicated to working with product development, marketing, underwriting and pricing to deliver innovative group solutions to advisors, plan sponsors and plan members. Carolyne’s most recent leadership position at Pocketpills online pharmacy involved building a B2B sales team from the ground up. Her team had the opportunity to build out and share the innovative and timely value proposition in bringing online pharmacy together with group benefits through national partnerships and group benefits advisor firms.
Carolyne’s favourite part of the role was connecting with advisors, partners and plan sponsors to share the offering. “It felt amazing to feel so helpful, offering an innovative solution to Canadians, especially during the pandemic,” she recalled. “I look forward to being a voice for Benefits Alliance in an amazing, evolving industry that has kept me so engaged and energized through the years, and am excited about getting out and connecting with all of our member firms and their teams across the country. In addition, I look forward to sharing how our strategy and direction can help expert advisors and partners grow with us as we evolve our value proposition.”
Carolyne lives in Hamilton, Ontario, with her teenage daughter, who is a competitive swimmer. She loves fitness, golf, tennis, camping, karaoke, improv classes, and annual “80’s in the Sand” vacations. She has a very strong skill set in French and enjoys practicing her Italian and Spanish language skills when given the opportunity.
“Our aim for the next President was someone who could lead Benefits Alliance to our strategic goals, and embodied our mission for membership growth and industry advocacy,” stated Todd Stephen, Benefits Alliance Board Chair. “Carolyne certainly embodies this and we’re looking forward to working with her. Carolyne has a great understanding of what our members are looking for.”
